"Northern India" classic decorative Tallis/Rapkin map published in Tallis's The Illustrated Atlas ..., about 1853. Steel engraved map with original outline hand colour, the more desirable version without a centrefold and with good margins. The decorative vignettes include British Presidency at Hyderabad, Car of Juggernaut, a Tiger Hunt and Ruins in Old Delhi. Lower margin close cropped (no loss), otherwise good condition. Size 32 x 24.5 cms including decorative border, plus margins. Ref G1981
