"The Surrender of Earl Cornwallis (Lieutenant-General of the British Army in North America) to General Washington & Count De Rochambeau, on the 19th Oct. 1781 - whereby the Posts of York-Town & Gloucester in Virginia were then given up to the combined forces of America & France" engraved by Thornton after a picture by Hamilton, published in Barnard's History of England, 1783. Copper engraved print, full plate mark and good margins. Size 21.5 x 31.5 cms to plate mark, plus margins. Ref F2930
